The congress on S. Servolo Island, Venice (Italy), is the 18th bi-annual international conference organised to explore developments in Personal Construct Psychology in all the fields in which this theory is applied - including practice, research and theoretical challenges.
PCP, initially developed by George A. Kelly (1905 – 1967), started with the focus of psychotherapy and has inspired and informed research and practice across a wide range of fields including education, counselling, health, business, arts, architecture, linguistics and politics.
Work in these diverse fields is based on the common idea of the person as fundamentally engaged in making sense of his/her own world and in verifying that sense-making to assess its usefulness in the living of their lives.
Academics, practitioners, students and researchers from all areas of interest are invited to share, promote, critique and develop PCP in all its forms in the most democratic and collaborative ways we can invent.

During the last Summer School, organised by the European Constructivist Therapy Network (ECTN), the idea emerged to create a Students Committee. This group will collaborate with the Conference Committee and organizers, consistent with the spirit of participation and sharing experiences in a constructivist way lived during the summer school, representing the thoughts and suggestions of a new generation.
The Students Committee is an unlocked group, a ‘laboratory’, a ‘work in progress’ open to any student interested in PCP and constructivism. It is possible to join a Students Committee simply by contacting Carlo Guerra studentspcp2009@gmail.com to become part of our e-mailing group.
